2. Radioactive emissions
About 10 grays of radioactive material can kill humans, but Deinococcus, a bacterium, is resistant to up to 5,000 grays without any problems. It can withstand up to 15,000 grays. The Guinness Book of World Records lists these bacteria as the world’s most resistant bacteria.
3. Boiling water
Heat and pressure from hydrothermal holes under the ocean floor can kill us instantly. But they are also home to some species. In the hydrothermal holes beneath the Pacific Ocean floor, there is a blind shrimp and some other species.
